Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 June 2026
This privacy policy explains how Yize (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit our website or place an order. We process your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data-protection law.
Who is responsible
Yize is the data controller. You can reach us at info@yize.be or by post at Ringlaan 80/2, 3900 Pelt, Belgium. Company / VAT number: BE0792.448.626.
What data we collect
Depending on how you use our site, we may collect:
- Order details: your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, the items you order, and your order history.
- Account details: if you create an account, your name, email, and saved order history.
- Contact and catering enquiries: the name, email, and message you send through our contact form.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
- Payment data: handled directly by our payment provider - we never see or store your full card details.
- Technical data: cookies and similar technologies needed to run the shop, plus basic, aggregated usage statistics.
How we use your data and the legal basis
We use your data to: process and deliver your orders and provide customer support (to perform our contract with you); manage your account (contract); answer your questions (our legitimate interest in helping you); send our newsletter (only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time); meet legal obligations such as accounting and food-safety records (legal obligation); and keep the website secure and working (legitimate interest).
Who we share it with
We share data only with providers who help us run the business, and only as far as needed:
- Shopify - our e-commerce platform, which hosts the shop and processes orders and accounts.
- Our payment provider - to process payments securely at checkout.
- Delivery partners - where your order is delivered rather than collected.
- Email and IT providers - to send order confirmations, replies, and (if you opted in) our newsletter.
We never sell your personal data. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses are in place.
Cookies
Cookies keep the shop working. On yize.be itself we only set essential and functional first-party cookies - no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking here. When you go to our checkout, which is hosted by Shopify, additional cookies are set; Shopify groups them into categories you can allow or refuse through the cookie preferences shown at checkout:
- cartId (yize.be) - remembers the contents of your shopping cart - strictly necessary - expires after 30 days.
- yize_hide_announcement (yize.be) - remembers that you closed the announcement bar - functional - expires after 1 year.
- yize_cookie_consent (yize.be) - remembers your choice on the cookie banner - functional - expires after 1 year.
- Required (Shopify checkout) - necessary for the store to function, including logging in and adding items to the cart.
- Personalization (Shopify checkout) - store details about your actions to personalize your next visit.
- Marketing (Shopify checkout) - used by us and our partners, including Shopify, to optimize marketing communications and show you ads on other websites.
- Analytics (Shopify checkout) - help us understand how you interact with the site, which we use to identify areas to improve.
You can change your checkout cookie preferences at any time through the settings Shopify shows during checkout, and control or block cookies through your browser - though blocking required cookies may stop parts of the shop from working. On yize.be we set no analytics or marketing cookies; if that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
We keep order and invoicing data for as long as Belgian law requires (currently seven years for accounting records). Account data is kept until you delete your account. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, withdraw consent, and request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email us at info@yize.be. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels - contact@apd-gba.be.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, together with its update date.
